- Congratulations to Dr. Barrett Bowling on his promotion to tenured Associate Professor of Medicine in the Department of Medicine, Geriatrics Division. Among his many roles across Duke and the VA, Dr. Bowling is an Aging Center investigator, an active member of the Pepper Center Research Education Component, and a mentor in the Aging Center T32 Postdoctoral Research Training Program.

Now that the weather is cooling off, join us for our October GeriaTrek – a hike on the Bobbit Hole Trail, October 8 at 9 am. Two and four- legged family members welcome. This is an easy 2.4 mile loop natural surface trail. Sturdy shoes and water bottle suggested.

2023 Pepper Center Intervention Development Workshop
The objective of this workshop is to support early investigators in developing and testing complex interventions targeting older populations. The workshop will be held over 7 sessions in February and March, 2023. Registration is free and the workshop is limited to 25 participants.

ALICE Program Call for Applications: Academic Leadership, Innovation, and Collaborative Engagement for Mid-Career Women Faculty
The Office for Faculty is now accepting applications for the ALICE program – a leadership development program for mid-career women faculty in the School of Medicine. ALICE – Academic Leadership, Innovation, and Collaborative Engagement –provides in-depth opportunities for leadership skill development, personal reflection and goal setting, peer-mentoring, and structured 360 feedback. The program aims to address the widely recognized gap in the number of women in senior leadership positions in academic medicine by providing a tailored leadership development opportunity for women.

Applications Are Now Available for the 2023 Duke Clinical Leadership Program
The Duke Clinical Leadership Program (DCLP) was founded by the Chancellor for Health Affairs in 2010 to help expand leadership capacity within Duke Health. The program consists of ten, half-day sessions over the course of six months. The program is supported by the Chancellor and run by the School of Medicine Office for Faculty.
